How to get green sticker for your car in Kathmandu, Nepal?

Things needed:

1. Car

2. Blue Book

3. NPR 10 (Hulak Ticket)

4. NPR 100 for Rajaswa



It was easier back then when Yatayat Karyalaya in Teku (Behind Salt Trading) was open for green stickers for public. Now it is not available for public. Sad!



Steps:

- Go to Transport Office, Sano Bharyang within 7 days of expiry. After 7 days there will be fine.

- Take 10 rs. Stamp with you or purchase there from street vendor (Churot Bechne Didi at NPR 15)

- Take a pen with you to fill the form

- Park car at the side of the Ring Road

- Counter 5 - Give blue book (Counter 5 closes at 2 PM)

- Wait for your vehicle number to be called by Bank Counter. The numbers are called in Nepali and old number is called not the embossed one. Be prepared to listen and understand your own vehicle number through distorted speaker sound.

- Lunch time 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM, no counter operates.

- Pay NPR 100 Rajaswa for Pollution Check after your vehicle number is called.

- They will give you receipt, blue book and a form to be filled.

- Fill Bagmati Office, Vehicle Number, Vehicle Model Name. Then your name, number, address, etc.

- Take the car in the pollution check line. Counter 8: Give the bluebook, form and wait for the test.

- You will be asked to move your car forward and wait. But literally there is no space available for parking. So be mentally prepared, just park somewhere (if you are lucky) and get the bluebook and green sticker. 5 Minutes time for getting the bluebook.

- Done



For me total time taken: 2 and Half Hours

To Pay Rajaswa: 2 Hours Wait

After that for pollution test vehicle line: Half an Hour
